I had a lot of fun today building this snowman with Mom and Dad. I did such a good job the neighbors stopped by and asked why I didn't build one for their yard. I think there's a possible business idea that no one has come up with yet. Dad says I should go for it and it might pay for college... yeah, I think he's bonkers too!

The other day my Daddy brought home a MacBook and he let me see it. I discovered that there was a little girl that lived inside that toy. She looked a lot like me and she acted kind of silly but not matter what I did she wouldn't talk back to me. I mean she just copied EVERYTHING I did! She even got her Daddy to come in and copy my Daddy. I know this sounds unbelievable but it's true. See for yourself...

This summer I also got to go to Storyland in New Hampshire. I got to do lots of fun things like ride the teacups, the flying shoes and even a little train (that was my favorite). I didn't like the turtle ride though, that was WAY TOO scary! I even got to drive a Model-T car BY MYSELF!

Bangor Fair

So one of the great things I did this summer was to go to the Bangor State Fair. There were lots of cool things to do. I saw some really cool bunny rabbits, goats, horses, and even some tigers. I rode on the merry-go-round, the crazy bus ride, and even tried a little roller coaster called the Dragon with Daddy. I didn' t like that one very much but I stuck it out. Anyways, enjoy the pictures!

So I haven't blogged for awhile. There's just so much to do I sometimes forget that I have an eager public awaiting updates on my every move. I went strawberry picking at Stevenson's in Wayne, Maine this week. I helped Mom and Dad. Their job was to fill up the containers, mine was to fill up my belly! I did a good job too. Do you think anyone noticed that I snuck a few?

I got a chance to go to my Nana's house a week or so ago and I got to ride on Jack. Jack is my Auntie Heather's horse. He is called Jack because he only has one eye. He's fun to ride on. Look out Kentucky Derby!

Today we went to Elmo's House (my parents kept calling it the "Colisee" but I was really excited to see all of my favorite Sesame Street friends there. I was frugal and skipped on the $8.00 Elmo mylar balloons and I even managed to avoid the $3.00 snowcones. We had a great time. I don't know why, but when Cookie Monster started singing about eating his vegetables and that cookies were a "sometimes food" Daddy started to cry a little. Maybe he was just happy to see the broccoli that Cookie Monster was dancing with. My favorite was Prairie Dawn and Super Grover. Oscar was fun too though. I was so excited to go that I almost went in my pajamas! Check out the photos!

Lily's Chicken Soup for the Toddler's Soul

Ingredients: (according to Lily)

* Carrots
* Potatoes
* Mashed Potatoes
* Jimmy Cracked Corn
* Chicken
* Chicken Soup
* Potatoes
* Carrots
* Mashed Potatoes

1. Put all of it in a pot.
2. Cook it on the stove
3. Get a spatula
4. If you don't have a kitchen stove you need to buy one at the store.

I had so much fun at Uncle J-sun and Aunt Liz's house. Their pool is great. Mom and Dad swim underwater and come get me. It's a riot. You should all try it sometime!

Potty Training???

So Momma and Daddy have started trying this new thing called "Potty Training" which is really confusing to me. I don't understand why the potty needs to be trained, I mean, it just sits there. Is it supposed to do something else? Anyways, they bought me a special seat to put on top of the toilet if I want to use it but I think it looks much better on Daddy's head don't you? It's a really cool hat.

So Memere gave me a book about potties and I love to read it. But you've got to be kidding me! You want me to do what where? Come on people, that's just gross! Anyhow, the deal is that if I sit on the potty I can have chocolate so I figured out a good plan. I don't have to actually GO potty to get the chocolate, I just sit for a minute or so. So that's what I do when I want chocolate. I think it works great but Daddy always makes that scowling face of his when I pull this trick. I thought he was supposed to be smarter than that!

So I have heard that some people haven't been able to see my really cool videos. I asked my Dad why and he said some people probably need to download some FREE software to make it work. I asked him if that was safe because "downloading" sounds a little scary and he said it was--safe that is, not scary. He said that some of the videos use FLASH and some use QUICKTIME. If you click on the buttons below you can download each one. They work on PC and Mac and will help you see other things on the web too.

So I was in a parade for the 4th of July. I have no idea what that means there was no cake or presents. I did get to see all of my friends from my Music Together Class. Today I got to do lots of fun stuff. I went down to the "big city" of Portland and went to the Children's Museum. It had lots of fun stuff like an fire engine, a water table with flowing water and boats, a cow you could milk and SO much more. We stayed there for awhile and then we got to do something REALLY fun... GO TO SEE MY AUNTIE HEATHER!!!

She works down in Portland and we got to go to her office! She must be someone really important because she knew almost everyone there and had to punch in some special numbers just to open the door to where she worked! I don't see what the numbers were but I bet they were 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10! Anyways, I had fun meeting all of the people she works with. I talked to them and what was really great was that Auntie Heather had a bag of chips in her desk that she shared with me! It was great.

Then we went out to lunch at a great place called Arby's! I have to recommend it to everyone out there, the fries are delicious and they have great ketchup too! I had so much fun there that I yelled out "Lily LOUD!" 6 or 7 times. I think it made Momma and Daddy very happy because their faces were all red, with pride!

More beach time fun!

Mom and Dad took me to see Webb Lake at Mt. Blue State Park this week. As we drove up I saw the "big mountains" and I told Mom and Dad that I wanted to climb them. They said maybe next year but I think I could do it now.

We had a great time at the beach. I spent the whole day making a special soup. It had dirt and water in it and some of my sand molds (crab, octopus, lobster, turles, starfish) and so Mom and Dad called in
my "Seafood Chowder". I'll try to get some new video up soon.
I'm working on some footage from the beach and another clip from my debut in the 4th of July Parade in Farmington.

Life's a Beach

So today was Father's Day AND it was supposed to be REALLY hot so Momma decided to take us all to the beach at Wilson Lake. It was really fun. We went early. The water was warming up and we had the beach to ourselves for over an hour. We saw boats and kayaks and loons and Dad helped me build a sand castle. Well, I should say that Daddy built a tower and then I knocked it down. He didn't get mad though. He even dunked me in the water (not all the way though, don't worry you child safety advocates!) Then we went back home and I played in my pool for awhile and had a nice nap. My Dad says I'm sweet though becuase the bugs were biting me
SO MUCH! Hope everyday this summer is this much fun.

Well, I know it's been awhile since I posted anything on my blog. Springtime sometimes reminds us of things. Everything growing and turning green makes me reflect on my growth. I am now 16 months old. I can say over 150 words now and I can do almost anything. I even started counting (though I don't always remember 3 or 4, but 5, 6, and 7 are so much more fun to say). I was outside a lot today doing some yardwork with Momma and Daddy. I was a big help as you can see. Well, I thought I'd post some pictures and logoff. To much to do outside you know.

Winter Fun

There IS a Santa Claus!!!

So last time I was conducting research about the existence of this Santa guy but I can now report that he is REAL! I came down the stairs on Christmas morning and I found all kinds of presents and Santa had even eaten the cookies and milk I left for him---Dad said he'd probably like Double-Stuffed Oreos. Rudolph even ate the carrot I left. Also, on Christmas I got to see all kinds of family members. This picture is me reading a book to my Aunt Heather...She's so much fun! I'm looking forward to the New Year but right now I'm going to go out with Mom and Dad and try out my new SLED that Santa brought me. I know he has to be real because I didn't even tell anyone I wanted a sled but they just looked like SO much fun at day care that I wished I could have one too and sure enough he brought one for ME!!!

Waiting for Santa

I heard that there's this guy named "Santa Claus" but I was a little skeptical so I thought I'd better be cautious about the whole thing. But I did decide to investigate. I started but checking it out on the net. When I Googled Santa Claus I got quite a few results. It seems that I'm not the only person who has heard of him. They say that he can fit down people's chimneys and that he brings presents to boys and girls all around the world but I don't know if anyone can do that. I have all kinds of energy myself but I don't think I could go all around the world!!!

Anyhow, I decided to check other places for research, since the internet can be unreliable (Dad taught me that). I turned on the box in the living room they call the TV. Santa was all over that too! He was mentioned in all kinds of shows and was even interviewed on the news. I don't know if this is legit or another fault of the liberal media but I'm on it. I decided to do old school research and hit the books--- well, Mom and Dad told me that hitting is wrong so I just read them instead. I read one book in particular that was called The Night Before Christmas and I found it really interesting. It must be some sort of prophecy or something because describes what is going to happen the night before Christmas...I tried cross-referencing this with Nostradamus but I didn't get anywhere with that.

Anyway, I think that this Santa guy might actually be real but there's only one way to find out. I'll have to see how many predictions from the book come true on the day before Christmas. I keep looking to see if Mama will be in her "kerchief" soon, but I guess I'll have to find out what that means first....

Trim-Trim-a-Tree

I went to Nanna's house this week for a Tree Trimming party. I didn't quite understand what that means... When Mama trims my nails she uses clippers but nobody at Nanna's had any. So I guess what we were supposed to do was cover up the tree with a bunch of decorations so people couldn't tell we didn't trim anything off of it. I had a great time there. I even helped by putting apple ornaments on the tree.

My Aunt Heather and Nanna took me out onto a HORSE. They put me on Aunt Heather's horse Jack. I liked being on the horsey but I felt bad that Nanna's horse Drake was all alone so I pointed at him and said "dat" because I wanted to have him come and join us but he didn't. Oh well, happy trails...

Let it snow...

I love snow days! Apparently when the snow is too much for cars to drive on they call it a "snow day." I just learned about it and here's how it works. It starts out with Mama and Daddy the night before looking out the window a lot and checking with "the weather man". He lives in a box in our living room and draws neat moving pictures. I don't usually understand what he's saying but he uses fun words like Doppler and weather track 5000. Then Mama and Daddy go to bed and they bring the phone with them I wonder if it's like a teddy bear for them or something-- strange though, it's not soft like my Lammy. In the morning when we usually wake up and everyone starts running around getting ready to leave the house, but on these days we watch the box in the living room for the weather man again. I think the box he lives in must be called the "storm center" because they keep calling it that. Anyways, then the phone rings and somebody talks to my Dad. He does a little dance in his PJ's and then yells to Mom that school is cancelled. That's when Mom sticks her tongue out at Dad and gets ready for work--- it must be a game they play.

The cool thing about a "snow day" is that I don't go to day care, I stay home with Dad and make a "snow man." I thought it was fun to dress him up but he was pretty boring to talk to, him didn't say anything at all. It was neat how he seemed to pop-up right out of the ground though. Then we go back inside, after I help Daddy shovel, and have hot chocolate. Yum!

For Thanksgiving, Mom, Dad and I went up to see Grandad, Gramma and Nanna and Grandpa Joe. They are lots of fun. I didn't know what Thanksgiving is about but Dad says it's when you say "thank-you" for stuff that you have and stuff that you like. Well, since I can say "thank you" yet-- "th" is really hard for me to say-- I decided I'd show people what I was thankful for. First I showed people I was thankful for my cart toy that I pushed around Gramma's living room all day. Then I thought I should let people know that I was thankful for them so I started pushing my cart into them. They made all kinds of funny noises and jumped in the air a lot so I knew they appreciated me doing it. Then I decided to show how thankful I was for Gramma's chocolate pie so I decided to cover everything I could with it. Mmmm that was a great Thanksgiving!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

So I guess that when a person is around for 365 days they call that a "birthday." I don't know why 'cause I've already been born but OK.

There are lots of cool things that happen for a birthday. The first cool thing is that all kinds of your friends and family come over to see you all at once! I had my friends Tucker and Alex to play with and my friend Riley came over in the morning! It was SO much fun to play with the big kids. Nana and Gramma were here and my Meme and my Grampy, also my Uncle J-sun, Aunt Liz, Uncle Matt and his new friend Jessica (she seems very nice). Then a BUNCH of my Mom & Dad's friends were there too. There were just TOO MANY people to count.

The next thing I like about birthdays is the food. I got to eat lot of things and I even had a special cake made for me. Ron and Jan brought it and it was a xylophone! It had donuts for wheels and sugared marshmallows for mallets and licorice for a pull string. That's cool because I like xylophones. Which reminds me of the last reason I like birthdays...

PRESENTS!!! I couldn't believe how many gifts people brought me. I got clothes and toys and puzzles and dolls and music and instruments and books and SO MANY things! I just can wait to play with them all! I just want to thank everyone for all of the wonderful presents and making my first year great. I couldn't have done it without you.

Halloween!!!

So I had my first Halloween ever and it wasn't what I expected. Well, I didn't really know what to expect, it was my FIRST Halloween. I got to make a cool Jack-o-latern at my friend Tucker's Pumpkin Party--Thanks Tucker, I had fun! Anyway, Dad did the carving, I just picked out the eyes. That's him in the picture with me below in front of my house. Mommy and I had fun outside in my costume for a while, but it's hot in there! Anyway, I got to have the most fun just passing out candy to the kids that came to my house. They were wearing some weird stuff but I guess that's what this is all about. That's OK though, I didn't get scared at all. Not even ONCE! Anyway, there were so many kids that I couldn't count them all (probably because I can't count yet). But Mommy and Daddy said there were 88. That sure sounds like a lot. I've never heard a number like that before. Oh, well, I'm going to bed. Good Night,

So last week I was standing up in the living room, playing with Dad and I sort of stumbled a little and put my foot out to keep myself from falling. I thought maybe I did something wrong because Dad's eyes got REALLY big and he got really quiet. Then, after a second he cheered for me and said, "Lily! You took your first step!" I clapped my hands and gave Dad a hug because he seemed so happy. I wanted to hug Mommy too but then I remember she was at a meeting. I think that scared Daddy because he called my Nana on the telephone and asked her what he should tell Mommy, but I don't know why he worried. Mommy was really happy when she got home.

So I've been working on this thing that the grown ups call "walking." I don't quite get what all the fuss is about. I mean, I can get where I need to go much faster when I'm crawling. I even beat my Dad sometimes when he's trying to chase me, he doesn't go very fast though! But like I said, I don't get this walking thing. All the grown ups want to do is see me do it now. I walk to Mommy and they cheer, "Yea Lily!" and "Look at you." I make them so excited I turned around walked back to Daddy-- I don't want to disappoint my audience you know.

Anyways, I thought you might enjoy this picture of me practicing this walking thing outside. I gotta go if I want Mommy to read me that "Peek-A-Boo" book again.

Fun At Aunt Amy and Uncle Dan's House

Last night I got to go to Uncle Dan and Aunt Amy's House. It was lots of fun! I saw that Aunt Amy had a rocking chair and some Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy dolls! Here's a picture of me with the dolls. Jan and Ron, some nice people I met brought them to Amy's house and I'm glad they did because I loved playing with them. I also sat in their rocking chair. It was SO MUCH fun! I had never done that before. I just rocked back and forth and smiled. Well, I gotta go eat some breakfast.

Welcome to my first Blog!

This is me, Lily Bailey. I'm 10 months old now but this is back when I was just starting solid foods like rice cereal. That must have been when I was 6 or 7 months old. I didn't much like it then but I love it now. I eat all kinds of foods now. I can say "dada" and "mama" and "kitty"...well sort of on that one but I can say "baba" and "nana" too. I don't actually know what those mean, but they're awfully fun to say! I hope to post a bunch more new pictures of myself. Dad says that keeping a "blog" is a great way for me to record my observations on life and to let people know what's been going on with me. I just have sooo many people interested in what I'm up to, it's just hard to keep up with them all. What's that Dad... Oh. It's 7:30, my bedtime, gotta take a bath and hit the sack.
